Habitat begins building its first house in Sterling, a new two-bedroom home on Myrtle Avenue in the culturally and historically interesting section of the community known as Waushacum Village.

Habitat for Humanity is pleased to be partnering with Steven and Miriam Foley (the original owners), the Waushacum Village Homeowner's Association and the town of Sterling to make this new home a reality.

We're off to a great start in Sterling - thanks to the RV Care-A-Vanners!

Habitat for Humanity's RV Care-a-vanners programs is for anyone who travels in a recreational vehicle and wants to build Habitat houses.  These dedicated Habitat volunteers travel to all parts of the continent, joining with local Habitat affiliates to build simple, decent, affordable homes in partnership with families in need and they bring lots of enthusiasm, experience, faith and good will with them.

This is the care-a-vanners first time partnering with the north central Mass. affiliate.  They arrived on Sunday, September 25th and stayed with us until Friday, October 9th, putting in many hours of hard work in Sterling as well as helping out at the HFHNCM office and ReStore.
