Volunteer Opportunities - Beyond Construction
Habitat for Humanity is about more than just construction sites and ReStores! There's truly something for everyone to do to help eliminate poverty housing from our region and our world. All ages, all talents are welcome to get involved!
Volunteer Liability Waiver Forms - All volunteers (not just those doing construction) are required to complete, sign and hand in a Volunteer Liability Waiver Form before they can begin work with HFHNCM and to update them annually. Volunteers under 18 need a Minor Waiver form signed by their parent or guardian. The Adult Waiver form is for those 18 and older.
These forms are also available to download from the volunteer calendar.
HFHNCM Committees and Advisory Teams
Habitat for Humanity is a grass-roots, volunteer-led organization and it's our committees and team who plan, support and carry out much of the work we do.
Currently active committees include: Development, Faith Partnership, Family Selection, Family Support, Finance, Site Selection and Design and Volunteer Support.
Family Advocates
Family advocate volunteers give support and guidance to newly-selected Habitat partner families from the time they are selected through to homeownership.
Habitat Family Advocates must have the following:
- a caring, people-friendly personality,
- the ability to work closely with different ethnic, socio-economic, family-type groups,
- an awareness of the challenges facing low-income families in our society,
- a desire to help people reach their goals.
Training is provided. Family Advocates are supported by members of the HFHNCM Family Support Team, all current or former advocates themselves.

Office Administration and Support
We need friendly, cheerful volunteers to answer the telephone, greet visitors and help with general office duties. Clerical and/or adminstrative experience required. Office hours are Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Interested? Email Clare.
Mailings and Special Events
Volunteers can help with labelling, stuffing and sorting our mailings ready for the nice people at the post office. We also host occasional special events and need help doing everything from serving coffee to handing out brochures.
If you would like to help, let us know! Call 978-348-2749, ext. 201 or send an email.
Construction Site Hosts
Habitat Site hosts are really public relations people working "in the field" - making sure volunteer groups from local corporations and business have a terrific experience with HFHNCM. Because these groups make financial contributions to our mission in addition to their physical labor, we want to thank them by doing all we can to ensure they have a great day.
Time requirement is 8:10 am to approx. 10 am on the days we have corporate groups scheduled (usually Fridays but can occasionally be other days). Once construction is underway, the site host is free to go. Training is required. Please call 978-348-2749, ext. 201 or email if interested in this people-friendly volunteer opportunity. What exactly does a site host do?
Corporate Group Lunch Providers
Provide simple lunches for 10-12 people for volunteer construction crews from local businesses and corporations working with HFHNCM. This is a great volunteer opportunity for groups! Call 978-348-2749, ext. 201 or email Clare.
