Volunteer Opportunities - Construction
Habitat for Humanity welcomes everyone who supports our mission, has a willing heart, energy and enthusiasm onto our construction sites. No experience necessary!
As a HFHNCM construction volunteer, you'll learn new skills or improve current ones, meet some terrific people and leave at the end of the day knowing that you've helped build a safe, decent and affordable home for a local family in need.
Important Information for Construction Volunteers
Normal scheduled work days are Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, beginning at 8:30 am and ending at 4:00 pm (approx.). Construction volunteers must be at least 16 years of age and all volunteers are required to complete, sign and hand in a Volunteer Liability Waiver Form
before they can begin work. Volunteers 16-18 years old should bring a
Minor Waiver Form signed by their parent or guardian. The Adult Waiver
Form is for those 18 and older.
These forms are also available to download from the volunteer calendar.
Safety
Habitat for Humanity does all it can to ensure the
safety of our volunteers. In addition to the safety briefing at the
start of the day, a volunteer safety manual and fully-stocked first aid
kit are always available on site. We encourage volunteers to look over
the safety manual before they come for their work day.
Volunteers can also take a free on-line volunteer safety training course. Click here for more information.

Signing Up For A Work Day
Individual Volunteers may sign up at any time using the Volunteer Up online volunteer registration and scheduling calendar. If you are a first time user of Volunteer Up, you will be asked to complete a simple registration process. How Volunteer Up works.pdf.
Group Volunteers (less than 4) who want to volunteer together
can either sign up as individuals or select one person to sign up and
register the others as their guests.
Group Volunteers (4 or more) who want to volunteer at one site on the same day must complete the Group Volunteer Application. Please email to Clare or send to: HFHNCM, 1 Oak Hill Rd., Fitchburg, MA - Attn: Volunteers.
Please fill out as completely as possible, especially your availability dates. Groups are scheduled on a first come-first served basis. While we make every effort to accommodate group volunteer requests, we do sometimes have to limit the size of the group due to the nature of the project or the work being done. We appreciate your understanding.

Women Build
National Women Build Week is held every year in May. It's a great opportunity for women 16 years of age and older to take a break from their normal occupations and spend a day on a construction site. All skill levels welcome - experience is helpful but not necessary.
This year's Women Build Week is May 5-11. Click here for details.
