Volunteer Opportunities
Why Volunteer?
Volunteering is a great way to support Habitat's mission, meet interesting people and learn new skills! Join with us to end poverty housing in our communities and create a world in which everyone has a decent place to live.
What Is There To Do?
Click on the links below to see just some of the volunteer positions we have available on a regular basis. If you have skills in a specific area, contact us to discuss how we can work together.
Construction - You don't need construction experience to volunteer with Habitat. We provide training and all the materials and tools. You must be at least 16 years of age to volunteer on a Habitat construction site!
Construction Crew Leader - Information and upcoming training dates.
ReStore - The HFHNCM ReStore sells donated new and used building supplies, appliances and furniture. Volunteers are needed to help with all aspects of running the store.
Beyond Construction! - Don't really want to do construction and not sure the ReStore's your thing? There are many ways you can support Habitat's mission that don't involve work boots or pricing labels!
We especially need volunteers able to support us with a regular commitment of their time and skills - weekly, bi-weekly - on our construction sites, in the ReStore and office.
How Can I Learn More About Volunteering With HFHNCM?
General Information Sessions
These sessions are held on the third Wednesday of every month at 7 p.m. in our ReStore, located at 637 Lancaster Street in Leominster. We give an overview of Habitat and HFHNCM and outline the various volunteer opportunities available as well as answering questions.
Special Volunteer Training Sessions
Certain volunteer positions require specialized training (site host, construction crew leader, etc.). Information about upcoming trainings will be in our monthly volunteer e-newsletter, posted on our home page, Facebook page and on our on-line scheduling calendar (Volunteer Up).
Additionally, we contact volunteers by email when special trainings are scheduled if they indicated an interest in this type of volunteer opportunity when they registered with HFHNCM.
ReStore New Volunteer Orientations
Held every Friday from 4-5 pm at the ReStore, these are information sessions detailing the various opportunities available at the store and giving volunteers a chance to meet staff, see the store and discuss how they might like to get involved.

Please fill out as completely as possible, especially your availability dates. However, sometimes group size has to be limited due to the nature of the project or the phase of work being done. We appreciate your understanding and flexibility.
Please note: group volunteer opportunities at our ReStore are not normally available.
Volunteer Liability Waiver Forms
All volunteers (not just those doing construction) are required to complete, sign and hand in a Volunteer Liability Waiver
form before working with HFHNCM and to update them annually.
Volunteers under 18 years of age need a Minor Waiver form form signed by
their parent or guardian. The Adult Waiver form is those those 18 and
older.
These forms are also available to download from the volunteer sign-up calendar.
School and Court-Ordered Community Service Information
HFHNCM tries to accomodate requests for community service hours as much as possible. If you sign up for a volunteer shift, please make every effort to fulfill your commitment. Should a scheduling conflict occur preventing you from working your shift, either return to the scheduling calendar and delete your sign up or contact the HFHNCM office, 978-348-2749. Letters verifying the hours completed can be picked up from the HFHNCM office.
We cannot accept court-ordered community service requests from persons convicted of offences involving larceny and/or violence.
Corporate Team Building Opportunities
Building Our Community's Future - Building Teamwork
Habitat for Humanity provides a unique opportunity for organizations to pool their employees' skills and talents and make a valuable contribution to the community.
Your team will work together, gaining a great sense of personal and team satisfaction. In the process, they will become directly involved in the fight against one of the major causes of poverty - the lack of affordable houses for hard-working, low-income families.
